Cheap old bass on craigslist

Found a nice antique three string bass on craigslist for only $325!

Only problem is it doesn't look like it's set up very well for arco...

Hmm... a very early plywood model.

Its true! Those old basses were three stringed! Love it personally.

Actually, one thing in its favor is that it's not plywood! What the heck is that tube sticking out on the lower left? Something to do with drug culture?

My goodness, it's fully carved! I thought I saw plys on those planks. Well! Given that it's solid wood...

That tube sticking out is a 1/4" phone plug. By Joe, it's electrified too!

Three strings... maybe it's Viennese? Although I think the Viennese basses used amphenol connectors, not 1/4".

Didn't they use phono plugs?
