OK - I'll bite, especially since I've pretty much decided to keep it:

Ah! I saw "Christopher" in the title and had to check it out. I have a 3/4 Busetto with LaBella 7710 strings.

I'm still playing my first upright, a carved top 2001 Christopher DB303T. It's not bad at all as far as CCBs go! lol The only downsides are how the arco sound thins outs a bit as you head up the G string and how it has wolf tones on damn near every note on the fingerboard. haha. I'm ready for an upgrade, but this bass and I have come a long way together.

I don't think Christophers are considered CCB's.

hmm, how about ECB = Excellent Chinese bass?

all kidding aside, the Shens that I've seen are quite nice and the Christophers seem like a very good value.

btw, only recently did I find out that my Chinese bass was made (or distributed) by the Dual Joy Musical Instrument Co. in Beijing.

My Christopher is definitely NOT a ccb. I think I might have been one of the first around here to buy one. It's a great bass, and I've done two CDs with it - including one with Gordon Goodwin.

I'm in the process of selling my DB401 Carved Flatback. The lower end Christophers(Academy, Concert, Hybrid) are very good basses for the money IMO.
