| Czech basses Hey all i just out a down payment on a Czech bass which is about 20-30 years old, i'm new to DB so don't know much, but its a carved top with ply back and sides. Very pretty looking, i played it but the strings were crap and it needs a good setup and general clean up. So i bought it on the proviso that when set up if i don't like the sound i can get my money back.
Anyone have any experience with these, i was going to buy a used chinese made Hofner that was setup nicely and sounded good but when i saw this the look of it and the fact has a carved top, as opposed to the Hofner which i think is a solid pressed top, i took the plunge, i imagine with some decent strings and a good setup i couldn't go too far wrong, and the price was good $1500 Aust dollars. Any thoughts?
