| David Wenzel Double Bass?
Hello folks,
I've just been visiting the academy of music in Cluj, Romania, and have been playing on a bass they have there. I'm totally in love with it. It's quite small, and at the moment is strung with solo tuned strings, so it's possible to be very agile on it. The sound is very resonant, but quite cutting. Very punchy and growly also. It looks really old and is quite battered.
The label inside reads 'David Wendel, Czechoslovakia', but there is no date. I can't find much info on the web about it-does anyone have any idea what I might have found?
Also I want to own a bass such as this-does anyone have any idea where I might find such an instrument in England and how much it might be worth?
