DB rental - upstate NY

I wish to start playing the DB, but I don't want to start out by purchasing an instrument. I prefer to use a rental for about three months, just to make sure that it can work.
That being said, I am having difficulty finding a place that rents a bass in my area (Albany, NY) and also do a set-up. I wish to begin with a very low action (a-la-Rabbath) with Corelli 370M strings. Upton basses rent for a minimum of one year. I emailed Bill Merchant to check if he has any basses he can rent out, but still did not get an answer from him.

Your advice is appreciated.

Good luck!

I rented my first DB at my local Doo-Wop-Shop. But, I live in Louisville, KY, not Albany.

A bit of a haul for you, but I've got a Christopher rental from Vermont Violins & mine is a 3 month term. They have shops in Burlington, Montpelier & W. Lebanon, NH
