| | | | DB's and sub compact cars I am looking for a used (or as the salesmen like to say "previously enjoyed") subcompact car -Honda ,Mazada ,Toyota...A hatchback would be ideal ,but I was wondering if anyone out there has managed a DB in a regular 4-door . Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

The distance from the back to the bridge is quite a lot to get in the trunk of a sedan and even angling it would never fit into my Jetta sedan. I can fit mine into a Subaru Impreza but only barely with the headstock as an elbow rest, so I doubt any car shorter than that (Yaris, Scion etc) will actually do it, given that it's one of the larger compact cars. I actually got to the point where I hauled the bass to the dealership with me when looking. |

The CRV is great too. Bass fits great. And with AWD Chicago winters are a breeze.

Toyota Matrix. It's much cheaper that the mazda 3 or things like that, and MUCH MUCH MUCH more roomy.
All the seats fold down flat, excluding the driver seat. It gets great gas mileage, and is the most depndable car I've ever been in. I think you should check it out man.
My bass fits right on the middle, with the back facing the right, and the neck sits inbetween the front two seats as someone said. I can fit my bass, my amp in the back, and one seat folds down in the back still, so I can fit 3 people. ! |

We've seen photos of them in the new Mini and I think there are stories of people fitting them in the old VW bug. My teacher uses a toyota camry. I've put it in my gf's old Infiniti Q20. You just have to put it in the front passenger seat by leaning the seat all the way back and having the endblock toward the front of the car. The scroll rests on the top of the back seat.
My Subie Impreza Outback is perfect for bass schlepping like probably all hatchbacks/compact wagons. I would think the only cars taht might give you trouble are probably sports cars. |
