You're forgetting the key part of the ad:

What goes with a $7K ply bass? I dunno: contraband? Women? Three more ply basses? Hmmm.

Hi Quap.

As the others have alluded to, 7000 bucks is quite a lot for a plywood (laminated) bass. The brand Georg Kerrman is probably a shop brand, just a made up name most likely. The very best plywoods go for 3-4000, and it's very likely that this bass is worth about half that at most.

From Lubbock TX it isn't that far to Albuquerque.
http://www.robertsonviolins.com/ is one of the most reputable dealers in the country, and I'm sure they could get you a better bass for less money than that, superbly set up.

Unless the bass does in fact come with $5,400 of weed, then this doesn't seem like a good bet to me.....

Good luck,
Brent

It is possible, that the seller was smoking some when he posted this ad.

He probably made a typo and meant to say $700, not $7000.
