Donated basses on E-bay

It would seem that somebody has good taste: getting a bunch of donated double basses to be sold on Ebay for a good cause:

http://shop.ebay.ca/merchant/sixtensfoundation

(disclaimer: I am not involved, but just impressed)

These instruments and the auction are a generous response to an initiative started by by Bob Kurz, of Bob's House of Basses. Forum participants who are also ISB members may have received announcements regarding Bob's advocacy for Conductive Education programs, which this auction will help to launch. I have visited Bob on my trips to Maryland (DC) and have had some enlightening discussions about the subject. For those of us who know or have worked with special needs children (of all ages) and who have been privileged enough to enjoy careers as professional musicians, I'm sure you can appreciate Bob's devotion. For those of you who are looking for an instrument, lessons, accessories, etc. there are some impressive offerings.
For more information check out: www.sixten.org.

Some of those packages look fantastic. If I were in the market for repairs or extensions, I'd definitely bid. Thanks for the link.

Thank you, Everett,
for filling in the details on this very laudable program.

Good luck to the participants!

I would also point out that the auction is for a limited time (only a few more days), so get bidding! I don't think you could find a more worthwhile way to spend your bass money!

Thumbs up very generous donations...

All the auctions I looked at end on the 15th...

Very impressive number and quality of donations. Quite a few violins, bows, 1 each spirocore weich and mittel sets packaged together and other accessories in addition to the basses. Definitely worth checking out as a chance to get what you might want anyway while supporting a good cause.

Man, upon first glance I read the title of this thread as "detonated ebay basses".
