Double Bass for begginer in Montreal

After 7 years of trumpet, I decided to learn how to play the double bass. I was looking for a relatively cheap double bass in Montreal and I found a plywood eastman contrabass with an adjustable bridge for 1550$ CAN (taxes not included) and a hybrid Schroeter contrabass for 1595$ CAN (taxes not included), but I would have to add 100$ CAN to adjust the bridge.

I also checked the Gliga double basses an they seem reall nice, but I didn't find the prices for any. If I were to buy one it would have to be under 2000$ CAN.

What would be the best instrument for me to start? Do you guys have other suggestions?

Thanks a lot!

Hi - I'm about 8 days ahead of you - another trumpet player who decided to learn the bass. I bought a slightly used Shen SB80 - Shen's basic plywood model - and I'm very happy with it. It was set up for a professional player who gigged with it some. Only cost me $900, plus another $100 for one of Upton's basic bows.
