Double Bass Bluegrass New York Area

Upright Bass Player Wanted For Established NYC-Based Bluegrass Band

James Reams & The Barnstormers, a traditional bluegrass band based in
NYC, is looking for an experienced upright bass player who can sing
harmonies -- and who has an understanding of and a keen interest in
"old-school" bluegrass music. If your influences are the hard-core
stuff -- Red Allen, Flatt & Scruggs, for example -- then you know what
we mean. Although the band is based in NYC and has some shows in the
area, we also have a schedule of weekend run-outs (within an area from
Maine to South Carolina to Indiana to Wisconsin) that sometimes require
leaving town on a Thursday night or Friday morning and coming back on
Sunday. The band has recorded several well-respected CDs and plans to
start recording the next one within the year. For more information
about the band, including CD reviews and music clips, visit
www.jamesreams.com. If interested, please contact James Reams at
718-788-2048 or james@jamesreams.com.
