Double Bass Expo Ireland, Dublin, 9th of April

*Update*

The Expo is going ahead next week, and I 'm happy to say that the spaces for participants in the masterclass with Michael Wolf is now full, and there has been a good deal of interest in the Expo.

The basses, by Seth Kimmell, and the Cincinnati Bass Cellar are en route to Ireland, and Tom Barrett is going to be bringing some excellently set-up student basses, along with a selection of bows and his personally-designed, handmade ebony C Extension.

Double Bass virtuoso Michael Wolf will be giving a performance at the end of the day (about 3.15pm) with pianist Dearbhla Brosnan.

If you know anyone who might be interested, send them along! More info at www.doublebassireland.com

See you there!

bass expo

Hi Conor
I'll be there. Got a Shen Rogeri willow of Tom last year so he wants me to bring it for his display. Will there still be places to spectate at the Masterclass? I haven't booked or anything.
regards Peter

Hi Peter, yes the tickets for the audience are available on the door for €5, which allows you in to the masterclasses and see Michael Wolf's concert. The instrument exhibition is free of charge.

The Expo was a huge success. Both the masterclasses and Luthier/Makers side of things were very happy. The day ended with an amazing performance by virtuoso bassist Michael Wolf, accompanied by pianist Dearbhla Brosnan. Photos of the day will be posted on Tom Barret's site: www.doublebassireland.com shortly, but there are some already up (just of the masterclasses, and celebratory pints of Guinness in 'The Palace Bar' afterwards!) on Michael Wolf's site : www.wolfbass.com

If anyone would like to be on the double bass Ireland mailing list, just send an email to tbarrett@olypen.com That'll make sure you hear about upcoming events, and any new basses/high end gear being stocked by Tom Barrett in Galway.
