Hello my brothers from another bass mother
I have always wanted to learn how to play an upright but never had the resources to make it a reality. Fast forward now I am in grad school and the music director heard I am a bass player. She was wondering if I would be willing to accompany a few choirs and what not, and I said sure. She asked if I could play upright, apparently they have two of them. ( I will get the brand names the next time I see them.) I was messing around on one and I am not horrible at fretless so I slowly began figuring out where notes where, etc. Needless to say it was a blast and I really want to learn especially since there are two available, why not?
Nobody has played them in nearly five years. They are both in serious need of string changes. The school is willing to pay to have them restrung, and since I don't know anything about them we will just let a professional do that
What would you recommend for a tuner? I have seen the intelligent type tuners, and a specific one made for uprights that look nifty.
Also, any piezo suggestions?
The school is also willing to go in on the tuner and possibly the piezo.
I am also wondering if any of you gents have some video clips on technique suggestions and other tips. I appreciate it!
Warm Regards,
Ted
