| Double bass hire in Canada
I am engineer for a UK band playing several canadian festivals in August. The cost of tranporting the double bass is prohibitive, and the festivals have drawn a blank with finding suitable double basses from their usual backline suppliers...
The instrument she uses in the UK is 3/4 size, French made vintage 1925 fitted with a Realist pick-up and Spirocore Kunstler-Seilsaiten low tension jazz strings. Obviously we could take a set of strings with us and can probably make do with any reasonable fitted pickup system (i supplement this with a microphone).
Can anyone give me any suggestions or contacts... we are playing Canmore and Edmonton so as close to there as possible would be ideal.
