Aside from that, I do have a burning question that relates to this thread. I wondered if anyone changed the string-to-string spacing at the bridge to accomodate a 'too long' or 'too short' mensure overall?

Oh Chucky, not my idea of how to win friends and influence people.

Red Mitchell was a close friend and my mentor. I know, generally, almost everything there is to know about his playing and his personal history. It's a hobby of mine.
Larry Holloway (not Hallaway) considers me his mentor. Ask him, he'll tell you, Chuck.
Red had an intense dislike of any laminated bass, let alone a Kay.
You are way off base in most of your statements here.

I don't care for the way you are treating my friend Dono either. He is a respected member of TBDB because of his intelligence, playing, history in the jazz and classical genres, his basses and delightful sense of humor.

IMO, FWIW, ROTFLMAO, LOL, etc.........
