The problem with Meisel, is they have just gone out of business, after 350ish years in business.

Wow, that's a bit of a surprise! It helps clear things up a little. I'll be dropping into your fine shop in the next couple months to grab an Ingles stand I guess!

For me, once the endpin is off the floor, the bass is in danger of falling over, no matter what stand you use. The inherent top-heaviness of most basses makes them easy to knock over. The Meisel stand is a slight improvement, but it looks to me like an overgrown guitar stand. I've seen a few of those fall over. It also appears to take up more room than the bass-in-the-corner method does. The corner method protects the bridge, and when the bass is leaned in the weight of the scroll helps it stay there. If you absolutely MUST have a stand for whatever reason, look at the stands most bass luthiers use, and build according to your needs.
