E. Wilfer laminates?

Hey All,
I'm hoping to get opinions of these basses, particularly the 100 and 300 models available from Steve at Ideal Music or bassesonline.com.
TIA

Wilfer Laminates

Hey RD,
My shop recently acquired a 1977 E. Wilfer plywood bass and am quite impressed with it. It has excellent tone and projection for a plywood bass. For a 30 year old bass, it is in good condition. The arching is not depressed at all, which says something about the general quality of construction.

Would this be your first double bass? What characteristics are you looking for in the bass? A little more info might help.

I've had four upright basses. Primarily attracted by the relatively low prices at bassesonline.com and am unfamiliar with Wilfer. Particularly unfamiliar with the Wilfer laminates. Just looking for a decent sounding, inexpensive, durable bass, and opinions of these in particular.

Based on your criteria, the Wilfer laminates (models 100 and 300) would in my opinion satisfy your expectations, with the model 100 being the most sensible of the two (considering the model 300 only offers some aesthetic qualities).
