Edmonton basses?

Hi, I need to rent a bass in Edmonton for a tour to Vancouver and back January 16 - 24.

Any and all ideas and suggestions welcome!

I don't really know anyone in town. Met Alfie and Byron at Myhre's, will be calling them.

Thanks!
Brian

Funny this. I'm visiting Edmonton right now and have phoned around to nearly every place I can -- hoping to get a bass amp.

People at Myhre's were great to deal with the last time I visited the 'Chuck, bought an Underwood there.

Another couple of places to try:

Acoustic Music Shop
http://acousticmusicshop.com
They've got a few basses there and will rent; and a small selection of strings. I bought some Supernils there (haven't tried them yet) and they had Clef Guts as well as the strings some guy named Ron Carter uses.

Bella Music
http://www.bellamusic.ca/
I haven't been here yet, but after visiting the website I'm kicking myself for not checking them out last time I came through town.

They keep saying it should warm up, but it's been hovering around -20C for days! Burrrr. Good luck with your endeavours.

Malty Christmas and Hoppy New Year,
FF

You may want to give rentabass.com a shot.

Hmmm... there's not much. I'd rent you mine if I didn't have gigs that weekend. Acoustic Music Shop is probably your best bet, but I haven't been there for a while. As far as I know, there's nothing at L&M right now, I think all their basses were rented out when I was there right before Christmas. Let me know what you find, I'm curious!

Brian, you might want to give the people at the Edmonton Jazz Festival office a call, they found me a Bass both times I played their Festival.
I don't have the number, but it should be on their website or in the phone book.
You might also try the local AFM office.
