I am looking to learn the DB. I have been playing electric for 11 years now and have a decent grasp on theory. I will be playing mainly bluegrass and folk with the DB. Eventually I will learn the bow, but for now I am mainly interested in using my fingers.
I used to play guitar and had a telecaster that was made by Dave Bunker of the Ibanez fame. I posted this ad on craigslist for a possible trade on my tele for an upright bass. It looks like a deal is going to go through, and I was wondering if you guys could help me make sure the value lines up. I will be trading my tele (worth about $600), an Ibanez AD9 (worth about $100) and an overdrive pedal (worth about $30). So I am wondering if this bass is worth about $750 bucks.

It's a 3/4 Cremona SB-3 - plywood with a "Pick Up The World" pick up and very upgraded tuners. I have a friend who plays blue grass bass. He loves this bass and wishes he had the money to buy it.

3/4 Knilling Summit (Model 1300T) w/ gigbag
Is this on the same level as cremonas and other cheap basses?

| | | | Well, it shouldn't play decently with the bridge at least two inches too close to the fingerboard. Also the black ebony-like paint seems to be wearing off the cheap what-kind-of-wood-is-that fingerboard. The action looks high enough to run a hog underneath it. $5 says that the seams have opened up. How do I guess all this? I own one of the d**n things. I payed $300 for mine. Put about $700 into it to make it playable. It is now worth about $300. Draw your own conclusions, but I will sell you mine which is a least playable for $500 as soon as I take delivery of the decent bass
I have on order.
