Electric bassist looking at Uprights

I guess you guys are the ones to talk to, so i'll cut to the chase. I'm an electric bassist (Ibanez SR-5) and i'm looking towards uprights. What's the price range for these things and what models would you recommend?

Basically whats going to be said is this:
oBrand isn't really a thing with uprights. As long as it sounds good to you, and its not a complete piece of junk (you will be able to tell) it should do you just fine.
oMost new basses (from my experience) especially beginner models will need a new set of strings, so take that into consideration when buying.
o Anything under around 1200$ is probably going to cost you more money to get it set up, and then it will still sound like junk.

Also, I dont recommend buying anything you dont see/hold and play. Try to find a instrument shop around you that sells them, if nothing else, you can try theirs and see what you like.

Like electric basses, the prices for the uprights are going to be all over the map. You can find stuff under $1000 and stuff over the $10,000 mark and everything in between. I bought a samuel shen willow 7/8 last year and paid about $4000 which included a padded case and a bow.
