ES-1 D string problem

Hello, I have a small problem that I hope someone will know the answer too. I have an Engelhardt ES-1 bass that is about 10 years old. I play it every weekend with our band and it gets a lot of practice time too. The D string is much louder than the other 3 strings. The sound post has been re-set, I use a cable on the tail piece instead of the original fastener, the fingerboard has been trued and I have put on a new set of Velvet Garbo strings and the bass is absolutly 100% tight, nothing loose. After all this the problem still persists. I have had this problem for about 6 months now and I sure would like to fix it. Thanks.

Is it just the open D string, or even the fingered notes on that string?

If only the open string, what happens if you play that note on the A string?
Is it louder too?
In that case it may be a wolf note.
