ES9 Swingmaster vs. UB Superswing laminated

Can anyone that has played both of these offer opinions on the better instrument. I'm looking to purchase soon as I have just had to return the EC-1 that I borrowed from the local high school. I play bluegrass, pizz only. I'm looking for something loud and durable. I've only been playing DB since last June. I just didn't feel right playing bluegrass on an EBG.

Having played both the Engels and the Uptons right in the same room, IMO, the Upton lamis are far superior in terms of sound, design, playability, workmanship, and parts (e.g., fingerboard, tailpiece, tuners).
