"Experibass" ...what the...??

I tried to search to see if this had come up before, but it's worth a look even if only for a laugh. Full marks for creativity in carpentry!

Hey, that's a great way to dispose of CCBs and BSOs. I see nothing wrong with it.

I wouldn't be surprised if that guy was a bassist himself.

Honey, what was that funny noise? Aaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhh..........

Did anybody else check out more of his videos, like the one in which he plays a tree? Man, we were doing that **** when we was hippies, playing the kitchen or the VW Bus, we just didn't put it on YouTube. Kids these days.....

The thing about this experiment is, with all the necks and scrolls, he isn't really addressing it as a string player. He's really just kind of built a big, unwieldy set of drums. If he had another player with some string experience playing and interacting from the back, I think that might be more interesting. It's fun to watch for a minute, but if I close my eyes and just listen to the music... meh.

IMHO

PS... Damon..... go stand behind this thing and play.... help the guy out.

That's awesome. I mean, I wouldn't do it, but it's cool that someone did. It's great to see someone not afraid to break convention and try something a little different. Way to go.

Just came across the "ExperiBass" video, so figured I'd UTFSF before posting a new thread.

Diego Stocco is a great sound designer, I find his work very inspiring!
