Experience with The Acoustic Bass Shop?

Hey all,

I'm stopping by the Acoustic Bass Shop in San Francisco tomorrow to try out a few basses: I'm looking to make a purchase for my school's instrument collection. Has anyone here had any experience with them? What about Ifshin? Any others in the Bay Area?

Alex Friedman

Alex Friedman usually has a good selection of student instruments that are well setup by him. Alex spends most of his days working on instruments. He is one of the two repairmen that I use to have instruments for my retail shop set up. He gets high marks from me.

Basschair -- Ifshin usually only has three or four basses in stock at most. Alex Friedman probably will have a better selection. Ifshin will have one or two of its own "house brand", which they call Jay Haide, and maybe one or two miscellaneous others.

Thanks guys. I wasn't able to go out to see Alex today, but I did make it to AG Music, and played some of the house student basses. I have to say that they felt very well setup, and was impressed by a few of them. I'll have to go the A.B. Shop next weekend to see what's up.
