First double bass

I'm hoping to get my first double bass this year. I've been playing electric for about eleven years, and I currently have a Bogdon Box Bass (an upright made out of a cardboard box, a wooden beam, and weedeater string; sounds amazing by the way), so I have a basic knowledge of the techniques.

I will most likely be playing rockabilly type music mostly, but I also love jazz, classical, and bluegrass. I don't want to spend too much, but I want fairly good quality.

I'm not playing in a band or anything, so this will be mostly for my own enjoyment. Are there any tips you can give me? Any input will be appreciated.

Thanks

Very basic, I'd say.
