First NDBD: Upton Hawkes Laminate

I'm super excited, this is my first double bass that I've owned! It's an '07 Upton Hawkes Laminate. I played all through high school and a bit in college, but I always used what ever the school happened to have, and I must say this plays and sounds so much better than any of the basses I used at school. Now all I have to do is find a bow that I like.

Congrats, you must be thrilled!

It looks like your window sill might have some moisture problems.

Thanks, it was a gift from my wife. She is so understanding with my bass "needs".

Nice!

That's a good looking instrument! I wish you well and hope you enjoy your new bass. I bet it sounds good. Upton has always had great looking and excellent constructed basses. Again, nice bass!

I just purchased a new Shen Sb180 last month and really know the good feeling of a new "family member" in the house. Have fun!

I'm glad you like the bass Matt and I'm happy it went to someone who was going to play it. It deserved better than to be a piece of furnature in one of my spare bedrooms.
