I have seen people looking for their first bass or a good place to find upright basses. Try Wayne Holmes at holmesbassviol.com. He is in Tennessee but can ship anywhere. He has a big inventory between 45 to 50 basses more than I have ever seen in one place, at many price ranges. I have been there 4 or 5 times. I bought an Englehardt and love it, it is really set up nicely. My friend went with me and bought a Shen, I also bought a cello on another occasion for my wife. He has given me some great deals on strings, a pick up, and upgrading my bow. He has also readjusted me bass for no charge because he wants you to love your bass. He is a luthier and a craftsman. His set up is the main reason to use him; he has always done a great job for me and my friends. You can view some of his inventory at his site. Good luck.

This used to be a great site filled with all kinds of information and professionalism. I have learned a lot from many of the great bassists who frequent Talkbass, but all of this crap is really ruining what used to be one of the best resources for Double Bass on the internet...

I would urge anyone in the middle of the Pacific region, on the west coast US, and anywhere in Asia, to use MARCUS JOHNSON for all of their freelance double bassist needs.

Once again, that's MARCUS JOHNSON. Ask for it by name. Basslines created while you wait. Yo Hablo Espanol.

This one's done. Smells fishy, too.
