Found It!!!

In response to my last post "knowing when its right", I now know. Is a fully carved romanian imported by Shanks Strings in 2005. It has a spruce top and maple back and ribs. It sounds amazing with Bel Canto strings on it. The easiest playing bass that i have ever played. No more excuses for my playing. Thanks for all the help guys. Jeff

Congrats! Finding "the" bass is an amazing feeling. It only took me ten years to find mine. Have fun!

Congrats!

Amusingly enough, my Romanian "Calin Wultur" looks like it could have been made in the same mold, and I had a similar reaction when I first played it. I don't have those nice hat pegs, though.

I'm a suckerfor hat peg tuners. I found it pretty quickly actually... only took about a month.

I have a Calin Wultur too, and it's a big-sounding bass. Although it's been supplanted, recently I've been missing it. I haven't loved every Romanian bass I've played, but many of them are very nice.
