Geiger bass

Anyone familiar with Voight and Geiger basses. I have a lead on one in LA but have not heard of the maker(s) before. Its my understanding they were German made and early 1900's Apparently Leroy Geiger has wrtitten a book on Violin making as well. Any information would be appreciated.

Oh the one that Gary Stein has in his shop??? That one sounds pretty nice i know... Well, Barrie Kolstein used to have another Geiger bass on his website several years ago from 1920's or 1930's, sold right away, but I thought both of them were Chicago made. Another thing you should know before buying the Geiger is that it has really thin body, not like a pancake though, that the tone does not goes to the distance compared with the one from the larger bodies, IMHO.
