german bass ID

hi all
i have an old? German plywood bass and I'm wondering if anyone has any info as to its origin. It has an old label inside with (Anton Schuster , Germany, Hand Made) on it. It has beautiful inlaid purfling, an ebony fingerboard and intricately engraved tuner plates. Is this just a mass produced import or something else? Any info appreciated.

A quick Google search didn't turn up much than other folks looking for the same info.
