It sure is pretty looking, but it seems pretty low-priced for a fully carved instrument.

One of my students brought me a Gewa to try it and make some tweaking. He bought it for 2000 euros from Athens. It gave me the impression of a cheap Chinese instrument, with thick top and back plates. The arco sound was so and so, the piz sound not good at all. I strung it with Spiros mittel and changed the soundpost but the improvement was barely noticeable. I had no time for a thorough set up so i don't know its full potential, but i believe that in this price range there are better choices. BTW my student sold it after a couple of months and purchased a beautiful, resonant Kremona from Bulgaria. These instruments, well known by Bob Gollihur, represent a very good choice (albeit a bit more expensive).
