Is this good to begin with?

Is this contrabass good enough to begin with? If so, about how much time would it take to outgrow the instrument?

Thanks a lot,

Daniel

Where do you live? Two things:

1) Buy a bass from a real bass shop.

2) Read the newbie links. They contain a wealth of information.

After you read them, c'mon back with questions.

Drurb, the Soundpost is a real bass/string shop here in Toronto. Apparently they also have an online store too though.

Daniel, if you're in the Toronto area, take the trip downtown and go to the Soundpost, as well as Heinl's and Remenyi to see what they've got for you to try out.

The Soundpost also appears to have a store in Ottawa.
