Got me a bass today!

Just came up on local craigslist. The bass is a Holbein 50/2. It was bought new by original owner in 2005. Original owner also said he had it setup at Williams Fine Violins in Nashville. The only upgrades mentioned was a new bridge..

This is my first bass, but it feels good and sounds ok too. The action feels good. Doesn't seem too high or too low. The strings are easy to press down and no buzzing.

It only cost my $650. I think that was a pretty good deal. I know it's not a high end bass, but it should do to get me learning. I really like it.

The picture is makin' the bridge look like its crooked. But it's not, just the picture.

Thanks. Haven't really been playin' since I am new to this. I really don't want to try and play it right now in case I might start developing bad habits that can be avoided. So, I start lessons next Monday, the 29th.

The only thing I'd like to do to this bass is new strings. I do believe these are the stock strings and 5 years old. So who knows what she will sound like with a new set.

I would also like to strip this "ebonized" stuff from the fingerboard. It is already wore off around the middle and looks like a nice rosewood.
