Got my first upright! :)

Hurray!
So, after some time of lusting over them, playing various ones in different music shops, I finally got myself an upright.
It's a Shen SB-80.
I got it from basschurch.com. The lady put what I'd call a good setup on it. I got a French bow and of course rosin. I've been primarily focused on learning arco playing for now.
SO my next step is to get a teacher. If anyone in the Seattle area happens to be reading this and can recommend one to me, that'd be great. I have a couple of e-mails out to ones that I was able to find.

Anyway, just wanted to say that I'm super excited to start my venture with DB! I really plan on sticking with it and hope to become somewhat decent at it.

I've been an electric bassist for 12 years now... and I'm wondering why it took me so long to finally get a DB!

Jake, isn't that "saw the dark"?

Fine choice on the bass, Ray. You're right about the teacher too. Enjoy the journey.

Lessons on DB = Wise investment

Good to hear that you're already headed in the right direction, instead of trying to reinvent the wheel like other BGers that took up DB and inevitably dropped out.
