Of course in this economy... There are a few of these in Chi (this has been discussed recently on smithbassforums.com) and they are in the 7-10k range.

But seriously, if the "appraisals" are right, congratulations! You're looking at an instant 1500% return on investment. |

Does it sound good now?
So how many unrepaired cracks and where are they? Soundpost or bass bar cracks?
Take it to a couple good luthiers and get suggestions and prices.

Take it to a couple good luthiers and get suggestions and prices. | the top was off about a year ago to repair a crack on the lower treble side that ran up to the f hole. the work was done by stein on vine. there are two unrepaired cracks on the side up near the neck, and one or two on the side near the bottom, that dont appear to go all the way through. the top is coming a bit loose near the neck join, however, it just needs some glue. |

any info from the seller on who did the work?
You might want to take her to a very good bass luthier to make sure all previous repairs have been done adequately. Also, to evaluate repairs that need to be done/redone. Verify age and pedigree, etc.
seems like a good deal, just make sure to get her to a luthier and have the neccessary work done to put her into top shape. |

I am hoping to take it in on saturday for a check up/estimate for repair/apprasial and a new bridge and maybe guts. I'm pretty stoked to have more seasoned eyes look it over. |
