Gulia??

My teacher owns a WONDERFUL old carved bass by this name. I tried doing research on it, but I couldn't find anything. I'm not even 100% sure if I spelled it right. The name is carved on the back in an almost Arabic style font. Have any of you heard/played one of these basses? He said it is worth about 10k, if that helps at all. Sorry, but I don't have any pictures.

There's Golia, a comtemporary maker in Italy. Actually more of a workshop type setup, I think, but I've seen some nice basses from them. They seem to often be decorated, and some have been selling (new) around 10k, though I'm pretty sure most are more than that... Just a thought.

He got the bass used, and put about $3,000 in repairs in it. I know it's pronounced "Gulia", but from the writing on the back it's a bit hard to tell if it's an 'o' or a 'u', but I'm sure you're right.
