I think somebody got a Nobel Prize in economics for this (seriously): the theory that at $5.99 a "good" bottle of wine is one that tastes surprisingly good for the money, and it flies of the shelves. Try and sell the same wine for $10.99 and it goes nowhere. Go figure.

Maybe the wine would sell just fine at $8.99. At $5.99, it's a great deal. Taking into account the spread in the prices on the wine and the bass (big difference when you double the price), it doesn't seem so unreasonable. That is, a bass I might consider a really good deal at $3-3500 may not be desirable at all at $6-7000. That would be true, for example, if I considered it's "market value" to be around $5000. Great deal at $3500, no way at $7000. You know how it is-- people don't want to pay even a little bit over what they consider the "right price."
