Can you post a link biddy? I've seen something about those. Don't remember which was the Hamburg model. My gut reaction is keep looking for a small old European bass, but who knows. Usually e-basses aren't that great a deal. I think if you google vienna strings you can find them. I can't ever remember someone who has one posting anything. Sorry to be so useless.

Hey Biddy, Marty Confurious is selling a Juzek in the TBDB Classifieds that would fit you very well. Its a nominal 5/8 with a 39" string length. Nancy Katz in Seattle is 5'1" and she plays a 5/8 with a 39 1/2" string length with no trouble.

Jim Laabs?

Jim Laabs store in Stevens Point, WI sells a line of basses with the Hamburg, Vienna name. It's been posted elswhere on TBDB that they're the same basses as the less expensive models at Lemur Music. I haven't been to eBay in a while, but Jim Laabs used to keep several active listings for these instruments

It the seller is indeed Jim Laabs, I STRONGLY recommend you read the eBay feedback. Their record for customer service was pretty bad.

I'm also surprised no one has mentioned to you that a 1/2 size bass may be more difficult to sell if you should ever decide to upgrade. Since sizes are so variable you might be able to find a 3/4 that fits you well. I'd also check out the Juzek mentioned by Jake.
