Has anyone heard of VOGNER or VAGNER(sp?) instruments??

The salesman at the local music shop talked my ear off for about 45 minutes about them. it sort of interested me on them. i'm planning to make a purchase of my own instrument in the future, so i want to check out these basses. anyone ever heard of them, and can give me some advice on them.

also, can anyone point me in the direction of some luthiers/manufacturers they trust/enjoy so i can check their stuff out too. websites would be nice. just for information, i play jazz and i'm looking for an instrument that will do me well. it doesnt have to be amazing or top of the industry good, just a solid instrument i can use until later, when i want to upgrade to something great.

Are you sure the Salesman was pronouncing "Wagner" with the proper German "V" for W and "F" for V. No wonder they lost the war!

Check out Volker Nahrmann for basses at www.nahrmannbass.com He's the real McCoy.

Surely, if they had pronounced their own names "our way" they would have won the war. I guess they were too busy developing the Enigma machine and murdering innocents to figure out that one.
