Hawaiian timber?

Hi - there was a thread here a couple of months ago with some amazing links to sculptures (and a bass) made from some beautiful Hawaiian (I think) timber. I've been trying to find the thread again but couldn't remember any of the details to make a successful search. Does anyone know which thread I'm talking about?

Every other instrument I've ever made using Koa for the back and sides sounded fantastic. I'd love to try it out on a double bass, but the cost would be insane. I know a local fellow who has a set of beautiful gigantic figurd Koa slabs that would make a nice bass and then some. It is for sale, but he's had several guitar builders check it out and know that you should be able to get about 20 guitar sets out of it, so that is where he is pricing it....

Thanks (sorry, I've been away for a few days...) - koa was the word I was looking for, there was a link in this thread to an exhibition of koa work, lovely.
