Ha ha ha, this thread is terriffic! Informative and entertaining, infotainment.

You know, an ashtray and cup holder would come in pretty handy, my C-bout tends to collect ashes and, beer dribbles all over the ribs.

Speaking of Brandon Tuomiko, does anybody miss him? Not me, good riddance Kendon!! He seems to be getting along OK over at SmithBassForums, asking questions about the LatchWelder and bows and such.

And has anybody noticed how our new friend Valid asks intelligent questions in a well spoken manner? Both Brandon and Valid are 15 year olds, only difference is one is a young lady from Canada, and the other is an old stick-in-the-mud from Pennsylvania.

Oh yeah, the final answer to Paul's fascinating quiz is "heel".

I don't know, but I'm quite excited for the answer. I'm tryin' to be a little more smarter about the big cello.

And Bass, stop gettin' so riled up. Just because that 15 year old is from Canada, it does not validate you. You Canucks sure stick together, don't ya? Must be the sub zero temperatures.

Aha! But Ken is very clever, before posting as Brandon he logs into a server located in Nebraska.

And the answer is "cornerless". I win again!!

Speaking of cornerless, did you know that this shape was originally designed to eliminate sound vortexes inside the bass? This contributes to a smoooooth warm tone.

Don't think they knew too much about sound vortexes back in the 1600's.

Interesting, to return to this thread 2 years later...

My (now 12 yo) son still loves playing the bass in his school orchestra. He also loves his 2 new guitars. You guys behave in here now, ya hear?!
