Help identifying a bass

Could anyone give an educated guess as to what kind of Bass this is? It's for sale for $500. They can't tell me too much about it. Trying to find out if I should buy it or not. Thanks in advance for any help!

I'm no expert, but it looks a bit like an American Standard with the wide shoulders.

If that's the "upright bass" on CL Corpus Christi, then I can identify it. It's actually a bass-shaped object of the type made in the Mexican border towns. I made the mistake of inquiring after it a few months ago when dude had it up for $600.00. Basically, it's a toy so don't pay over twenty bucks for it.
