Exclamation Help with Kay Bass Appraisal

Hey Guys,

I posted a classified ad in the for sale section for a 1949 Kay Bass.

I probably should have done this prior to posting the ad, but can anyone give me an idea of how much my bass is really worth?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

If I was selling that bass, I'd ask 1000 and take 800.

Well yes, IMHO, perhaps you should have done this before. Now it looks, to me at least, just a bit as if you are trying to focus attention on a sale you want to make.

If you really want an appraisal, take it to a luthier.

As far as I can tell, she and her partner are pretty reliable information on this vintage of American basses.

Seems most private DB sales happen locally. A luthier in your neck o' the woods would have an idea of what it's worth in your local market.... not to say he'd buy it from you for that much.

All replies are valid. Any further can be done via PM. One thread per bass, please.
