Heramn Schartel model 26B

Can anyone give me some info on the model 26B 3/4 bass by Hermet Schartel. I would like to know the string length. What wood is used in the neck? Is the nut ebony? Is the fingerboard ebony? Over all dimensions. Any help wound be greatly appreciated.

I spoke to a salesperson at Sam Ash and they had no info other than what is posted on their website. I was told that the Bass was built in europe and shipped to Long Island. Still trying to get specs. The Manhattan Sam Ash did not have one available to test. Help! Any info on the neck material as well as the general measurements will be greatly appreciated.

If I were buying a bass and the seller could not provide basic information regarding its dimensions and construction, I would be shopping elsewhere very quickly.

Why not purchase an upright from Sam Ash and then have David Gage set the bass up?

because they sell cheap chinese bass-shaped objects and are not in the slightest bit knowledgeable about the crap they're selling. going to a real luthier's shop will save you from making a $1000 mistake
