Common Markings

Makers often identify their work in exactly the location you describe, some with only their name , others with date of manufacture, serial number, model name, etc.

Often, if a luthier must remove the top to effect a repair, the repairman will also mark the inside.

Stickers are seen most often, but pencil directly on the back is not unusual. Some TBers have actually posted photos of the labels.

Someone may know more about this particular maker, but in my guesstimation your bass was built or re-built February 20th 2004.

How does it sound?

I think its sound well. I'm not an expirenced player It's dificult to say something over the sound if you have no expirence with other basses.

Thanx for replying

Well, Budapest is in Hungary, not Czechoslovakia, and Czechoslovakia ceased to exist in 1993.

Maybe you could find a friend who reads Hungarian to translate the label.

As long as the bass sounds great and makes you want to play, nothing else really matters!

I like playing. That's the most funny thing of the bass.

I know topographics of east europe I've been there. Even in thetime the Iron Curtain existed.

I'm curious how old he is and where he's from.

Thanx for your replay
