Hofner Basses

Hi all i'm a Bg player looking at entering the realm of DB yes another one! Anyway i looked at a new Hofner bass at Puglisi in Melbourne today its a hybrid with a spruce top, plywood back and sides this one was fitted with some new kind of string Velvet something i think anyway it sounded great big warm sound.

I dont really know anything about DB apart from what have read here, but this seems like a good deal they fully set up the bass including replacing the bridge which apparently is crap and refinishing the fingerbaord and adjusting the soundpost. It comes with a pick up, setup and bag for about $2500.00 AUD which from what i've seem sounds pretty good.

Anyone out there using these basses?

I cannot say if it is at the right price or not, it all depends on the sound of the bass. Try more, then you will have a better idea of what kind of sound you prefer. If you are not in a hurry, then take your time, ask your friends, before you put your money on the table. Unfortunately, there are not many DB shops in Melbourne.
