How do you put your bass in it's bag?

I just watched the video for the UB Deluxe bass bag, and he puts his in by holding the bass between his legs and bringing the bag over the bass.

I lay my bag on the floor and put the bass in and out of it that way, just wondering how everyone else does it?

I usually hold the bass neck with one hand and place the bag over the neck with the other. I get it into place around the bass and then lay the bass down, pull the bag around it and zip it up, lower the pin and ready to go.

I usually like to lure the elusive P bass into the bag with bacon for bait.

Interesting, so you sort of do half/half between me and that video.

Whatever works for you is fine. So long as you're not dropping the bass.

I'm bummed

My main bass that I've been playing came with a nicely padded generic bag. The great thing about that I love is that it zips down the middle in front. I love it. Easiest bag to get on and off. On my new Golia bass I got a great deal on a Reunion Blues bag. Great protection but absurdly difficult to get on and off. And it's like having a bass trunk as far as rigity. But it was brand new, fit my very large bass, and cost $225.

Reunion Blues

Mike,

I also find it difficult to put on/take off my Reunion Blues bag. When it's empty, It stands upright all by itself. People think the bass is still in it. It does, however, provide probably the best and safest protection short of a hard case. Where did you find one for that price?

I just hold the bass in an upright position with one hand and lift the bag over the scroll with the other hand. Then I wrap my arm around the neck and zip the case. I have a Soundwear case that weighs damn near as much as my bass, but protects it beautifully. It never occurred to me to lay the bass down at any point when putting the case on or taking it off.

It's sort of like putting a snow suit on a child.

Maybe I'm a bit noid about my bass. When Reunion Blues came out WAY back, like most of us, I loved the look. I tried one on in NYC and passed. Putting that kind of weight on the scroll, neck and neck block when I first put it on the bass scared the hell out of me.
