How long do custom Double Basses take to make?

How long does someone wait for a custom, new instrument? I'm bored, and started a similar thread on the BG side. Care to give some times to well-known (and less well known!) luthiers/workshops?

From the time I ordered my Pöllmann directly from Michael Krahmer until I took delivery was 6 months. I don't know how many other basses he had in the pipeline.

It takes us about 6 to 8 weeks to make a bass from start to finish, this is all being well and if we dont have any problems along the way! We tend to have more than one bass on the go at a time tho as you have to wait sometimes for glue to dry and you cant work on a bass for a day, so can be getting on with something else while waiting. Hope this helps. George Martin www.thomasmartin.co.uk

Talking

I've been a fan of your Dad's work and his playing for many years, George.

PS. I'll be heading over soon to pick up the Gasparo.

This is kind of OT (and I'm the OP!) but I LOVE your website. It was nice to be able to find a collection of music for free online.
And another thing, I would have thought that Pollmann would have taken longer -I think of them as one of the bigger (as in reputation and volume of orders) shops out there. I wonder what their current build time is now.
