I am going to look at 2 different used Basses tommorow, what should I be looking for?

Ive never bought a stand up bass before. im an electric bassist whos makeing a switch. I know I should look for cracks and any buzzing around the fretboard, but what other advice could u give me when shopping for a used upright bass.

Also, there both 3/4 size basses. Are they common these days or will I be sacraficeing sound for size.

Hi Vacume, if you read the newbie links, you will find that your questions have been asked (and answered) many times before.

I would advise doing more research and bringing a knowledgeable DB player along to look at any basses before you buy.

You might want to post make/model of what you're going to see - that would at least give people here some idea about the instruments and what they might be worth.

3/4 is what most people play.
