I have one of these! It has the thinnest neck I've ever seen on a DB. Plays great and sounds good too. I emailed Gibson the serial # and they estimated that mine was from about 1940. Mine has the blonde tailpiece but no epi badge there-it says epiphone on the tuner plate. Mine's quite a bit more beat-up.

i debated getting a DB for awhile.
i was in band and orchestra in HS, played tuba.
i dabbled on the DB.

I had a B4 that I had restored after a near fatal top collapse. Ended up with a new top. Bass was blonde and looked alot like this one. A good friend of mine now has it and its his main player.
