Unhappy I Miss Her From Time To Time

Today I was reminiscing about my old bass. I used to own a lovely little French lady with a sweet upper register. Alas, I had to give her up to get something more worthy of orchestral playing but I can't help wishing I had the dough to keep her and still afford the one I have now. Anyone else get these feelings from time to time?

I mean, you have just a few years, a few fleeting moments with your sweetheart before you have to set her free. I just hope she wound up in the hands of someone who is treating her as well as I did. I wonder where she is right now... In a concert hall? In a practice room? In a closet? In an attic?

Anyone else care to share their past love affairs? (Let's try to keep it to basses only...)
